Spring has arrived in New York, however you cannot tell by the weather...it ha snowed twice in the last week. For Spring Break we headed south to the city for a few days to meetup with family and see a few sights. On Easter Sunday we visited the USS Intrepid museum and took a sunset cruise with Circle Line Cruises around Manhattan. While it was unseasonably cold (seriously cold) Mother Nature was kind enough to treat us to some wonderful light as we departed the terminal. The city was awash in warm light as we made our way down the Hudson River illuminating the buildings on the west side of Manhattan. 

For this trip, I brought my new Fujifilm X100F camera that had just arrived a few days before. I have used the Fujifilm X100S for about 7 years and loved the form factor and simplicity of that camera; it still takes beautiful images, but it is time to upgrade and this trip is its first outing with me.

I have set the camera up with 3 custom modes: Provia, ACROS black and white, and Classic Chrome. Like almost everyone else I really enjoy the images created with the ARCOS and Classic Chrome film simulations.  

The images included here have been minimally post processed in Lightroom for crop, exposure, and contrast (slight vignette and neutral gradient applied to some images) with the exception of the one image post processed in Photoshop with Luminar.

The cruise took us out to the Statue of Liberty then up the East River and back. I managed to stay on deck until we made it back to the Freedom Tower before I called it quits and headed below deck because I couldn’t feel my hands anymore.

After getting back home and reviewing the images on the full screen monitor I’m really excited what this camera can do.
