The view from our hotel room in the Marriott Marquis
On our second day in New York City, given the year we are having, of course it snowed overnight! In the morning, we grabbed a cab and made our way up from Times Square to the American Museum of Natural History to spend most of the day. We arrived just as the doors opened on a Monday and we had about an hour before the place became really crowded.
Like the day before, I had the Fujifilm X100F with me and the museum is a an environment where I think the X100 series shines. Small, light, and virtually silent. You can move around and take photos without alerting or disturbing people. I have my camera setup to operate silently and without the focus assist light. Obviously, I do not enable the on camera flash either.
As the morning wore on the museum became quite busy and finding opportunities for taking low-light photos became increasingly challenging and as the day went on I took fewer pictures and enjoyed the museum exhibits. There is so much to see in the museum and by mid-afternoon we had visited about half of the exhibits and everyone had had enough museum for the day.
Thanks for stopping by today!
