As the second week of 2019 began I had the good fortune to attend the AIAA SciTech conference in San Diego, California. A fantastic week of speakers, panel talks, technical sessions, and meeting and greeting new associates. I always enjoy this week because in addition to meeting new people and learning, it is a chance to catch up with old friends and associates and it is a great time to think about the year ahead and all that I want to accomplish. New this year (for me and the team) was our own booth in the Exhibit Hall (see my LinkedIn article for more details and a great photo of colleagues here and here ).

I brought the Fuji X100F with me on the trip with the intent of spending a few hours wandering the streets of downtown San Diego and photographing the architecture and sites. Unfortunately the week kept me super busy and I didn’t get out as much as I would have liked. I did manage to capture a few images while on my Southwest flight over the Southwest and on approach to San Diego. One of my favorite shots of the trip however (shown above) was taken with my iPhone XS as we climbed out of San Diego.
