Mid-afternoon. Harsh light. High contrast. Chickadees practically landing on my head causing me to actually have to back up to keep the birds outside the minimal focal length. This made for some fun shooting, but more time in post.
Above is just one of those chickadees eyeing me as I point the Canon 7D Mark II and the Canon EF 100-400MM F/4.5-5.6L IS USM lens at it.

Just another coneflower
A black and white conversion of a red lily in daylight
Photographed with the Canon 7D Mark II and a Canon EF 135MM F/2.0L lens during a bright sunny afternoon provided an opportunity to expose the flower on a dark background with spot metering. Using Nik Software's Silver Efex Pro II, I was further able to push the background into black and isolate the flower.
