More snow in upstate New York. This has been a yoyo Winter with snow followed by a warm-up that melts the snow, then more snow. Overall it has been a productive Winter for photographing the birds. This weekend we had a visit from a few House Finches among the Juncos, Chickadees, and Cardinals. There were also a few Starlings that I caught a glimpse of, but I did not have my camera with me.

February in the Capital District has been punctuated with bouts of cold stormy weather interspersed with days of unseasonably warm weather that melts our snow pack. The birds have been arriving in large groups or none at all. On this day, over a half dozen Northern Cardinals visited within ten minutes then moved on.
