While attending the 2016 AIAA SciTech conference in San Diego, Ca., I had the pleasure of visiting the campus of San Diego State University and their engineering facilities as a guest of a long-time colleague and friend who is now a faculty member at the university. It was a cool and wet afternoon, so we dodged the rain by running from building to building and stopping for a few minutes to have coffee.
The above image is of the iconic Hepner Hall. The image below is of the more recently built Aztec Student Union building.

Thanks to Xiaofeng Liu for being our gracious tour guide.

Park Street Church - Boston
On our recent trip to Boston to watch the Fighting Irish in the Shamrock Series game, we spent the afternoon walking the Freedom Trail from Quincy Market to Boston Commons. Above is the historic Park Street Church as seen from the Granary Burying Ground.
The late afternoon sun was lighting the spire as the shadows grew deeper within the Burying Ground.
The above image was shot handheld with the Fuji X100s. I used two exposures to create a HDR image using Photoshop CC to properly expose both the sky and trees in the foreground.

Having grown up an hour north of Boston and visiting the city many many times, this was my first time actually touring this building. We went on a 20 minute guided tour that described the events and context leading up to the Boston Massacre. My two children, both under the age of 12, enjoyed the tour and did not get bored. Well worth the visit if you are in the neighborhood!
