Another cold windy sub-zero morning in the Capital District. The sun was shining and the wind was blowing making it feel like a balmy -10 degrees Fahrenheit, but the birds did not care. This Tufted Titmouse was perched in the Butterfly Bush and making round trips from the bird feeder to the bush and back again for his breakfast. Because of the cold and wind he had his feathers puffed up which made for some nice details. Also, because the sun was shining low in the sky there was a warm cast to the light that I have slightly emphasized in the post-processing.
The images here were photographed handheld using the Canon 7D Mark II and the Canon EF 100-400MM F/4.5-5.6L IS USM lens. Post processing was completed with Adobe Lightroom mobile on my iPhone 7 Plus while staying warm by the fireplace.
Thanks for stopping by today and stay warm out there!
The first weekend of Fall in the Capital District brought unseasonably warm temperatures for several days. Not good for the autumn colors, but time will tell. A benefit of the warm weather is the butterflies were active and swarming the Butterfly bushes.
